In November 2023, a relative became suspicious of messages sent from the phone of Jorge Luis Pérez Ochandarena, a 33-year-old Cuban man living in Spain. Shortly afterward, he was reported missing.

The investigation eventually pointed to people in his circle in Tajueco, a tiny village in the province of Soria. For months, there was no trace of Jorge.

In October 2024, the Google Street View car drove through those streets for the first time in about 15 years. One of its photos shows a man next to a red car, putting a human-shaped white bundle in the trunk. Another image appears to show someone moving a similar bundle in a wheelbarrow. The police were cautious: however disturbing the photo may be, it is not decisive evidence. Even so, Manuel Isla Gallardo and a woman linked to the disappearance were arrested. In December 2024, investigators found human remains buried in the cemetery of Andaluz, a nearby village. In March 2025, DNA confirmed they belonged to Jorge.
