Two Italians were driving a 1948 Jaguar XK120 along Schwaitl Road in Austria. They were on a test drive, warming up the engine for the 2025 Mille Miglia.
Coming in the opposite direction was an Opel Insignia driven by a 23-year-old Hungarian woman. According to Kronen Zeitung, she admitted to authorities that she received a call, looked away to answer it, and ended up in the oncoming lane.
The impact was frontal. The entire right side of the Jaguar was gone: the wheel, suspension, door, and windshield were wrecked, and the roof was deformed. In the video, one of the Italians appears with blood on his face and accuses her of being on her phone. She responds in English: “I had a call” and “I’m sorry”.
The occupants suffered only minor cuts and bruises. The car, valued at more than a million euros according to some media outlets, was beyond repair.
