He called 911 furiously. He said that a car was coming toward him on Highway 77 in Nebraska and had nearly run him off the road. “That was terrifying”, he said over the phone, convinced he was the victim.

When the Lancaster County officer arrived at the scene, the story completely turned around. He was the wrong-way driver: he had been driving against traffic, and his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. When asked why he was driving the wrong way, he replied that he must have missed an exit.

The sheriff’s office released the video and audio of the call, and the man himself confirmed to the officer that he was the same person who had called minutes earlier. He never suspected that he was reporting himself.
