Henry was 16 years old, and no one would give him a chance.
When he came into rescuer Zach Skow’s care, he could barely walk. He was practically deaf, partially blind in one eye and had testicular cancer that seemed to give him just weeks to live. Skow wasn’t trying to cure him — he only wanted Henry to spend whatever time he had left feeling loved instead of dying alone in a cage.
After surgery to remove the tumor, he began to regain his strength. He started walking again, then jogging, and soon he was following Skow around the house as if he were half his age. His story was shared on social media, and the adoption applications kept pouring in.
He spent his final days in a home that adored him, alongside Caro Aguilar and her family, who adopted him and became his final owners. During the 15 months they were together, they gave him the home, care, and affection he needed in his old age. Henry died peacefully on January 6, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones, proving that it is never too late for love. 🐾❤️
