A fan, somewhat confused, had the following theory in his head: if Lionel Messi plays for Inter Miami in the MLS, then he should play for the United States.
The logic, let’s say, is “creative”. For him, the club determines the national team. That Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina, that he debuted with La Albiceleste at 17, that he won the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Argentina, all of that took a back seat.
What matters is that he lives in Miami and plays in the MLS. Case closed. The internet, as it usually does, didn’t let it slide. The comments filled up with responses ranging from patient explanation to outright mockery.
Because there are mistakes that get corrected, and there are mistakes that are kept forever in the annals of football. This one already has its place secured. 🏆😅
