Ryan Hietanen held a Pokémon card he had kept for years. He sold it without hesitation. That gesture, captured in a TikTok by his wife Alexandra, went viral within days. But behind that sale was much more than collectible cards.
Alexandra and Ryan, both registered nurses aged 42 and 39, have spent six years reorganizing their entire lives around Landon, their son with level 3 autism. They researched every treatment option before deciding on stem cell therapy, not seeking a miracle, but exhausting every possible path to help him keep moving forward.
“The greatest sacrifices are the ones no one sees”, says Alexandra. Sleepless nights, difficult decisions, endless appointments. And even so, she says they would do it again without thinking twice, because every one of Landon’s achievements is celebrated at home as a shared victory.
