Michael Bunce knew he did not have much time left.

That phrase, spoken almost in a whisper, set something in motion that no one expected. Within days, the hospital staff transformed the chapel into a wedding hall and the outdoor garden into a complete reception, complete with flowers and cake.
On July 2, 2026, Shana walked down the aisle holding her father’s hand, as he accompanied her on a stretcher while music played in the background.
