A fear and a commitment saved them: the two influencers who did not board the helicopter where Gaspi and Oliver Tree died

A fear and a scheduling commitment. That was what kept two people from dying on Sunday, June 14, in Rio de Janeiro. 😔

The crash between two helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes left six dead: American singer Oliver Tree, Argentine YouTuber Gaspi (Gaspar Prim Díaz, 23 years old), filmmaker Lucas Vignale, producer Lucas Frota, and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac. But on that passenger list there were two names that, for almost trivial reasons, never ended up boarding. Brazilian influencer Iae Break (Thiago Alcántara) had a previously scheduled commitment that prevented him from going. Producer Víctor WAO backed out at the last second because he has a phobia of helicopters. They got him a car to travel by land to Angra dos Reis. 🚗

What makes this case even more disturbing: when WAO’s seat was left open, another person took his place. That passenger was Lucas Frota, who died in the crash. Today, Iae Break and Víctor WAO are alive, mourning their friends on social media, knowing that an insignificant detail drew the line between them and the victims. Sometimes fate is decided at the last minute. 💔
