Three days. That was how long a stray kitten spent perched on a high-voltage tower in El Agustino, Lima, without food, without water, and unable to get down. It all started when a pack of stray dogs chased it, and it took the only way out it saw: climbing the metal structure to where no dog could follow.

Residents near the intersection of Independencia and Las Lomas avenues saw it up there, reported it to RPP’s Rotafono, and Luz del Sur responded in a way no one expected from an electric company: it deployed a full operation with harnesses, pulleys, ropes, a crane, and insulating equipment to bring it down safe and sound. On October 21, 2025, the technicians arrived at the scene and rescued it visibly exhausted and dehydrated, but alive.

The kitten was taken to a veterinary clinic in Miraflores to recover, the video of the operation went viral on social media, and residents have already launched a campaign to find it a home. 🐱
