Boncuk did not move from that door for six days.

When Cemal Senturk, her elderly owner, was rushed to a hospital in Trabzon, Turkey, she ran behind the ambulance. His family tried to take her home again and again, but every morning she reappeared at the entrance. The security guard, Muhammet Akdeniz, watched her arrive around nine and stay there, barely eating anything, until night fell.

No one explained to Boncuk that her owner was getting better. She only knew how to wait. And on the sixth day, when the hospital doors opened and Cemal came out in a wheelchair, the dog ran toward him as if she had understood, all this time, that she only had to hold on a little longer.
