A little puppy didn’t want to leave her paralyzed sister: today, they both run together in the same home

Nucita, as the rescuers named her, couldn’t even stand, much less walk. Neighbors found her on the street with her little brother, though they didn’t know if they had the same mother—only that they had both been abandoned together.

The veterinarians recommended euthanasia; her case seemed to have no other way out, but Zadrigman thought otherwise.

The diagnosis was ehrlichiosis, a rare disease that is very difficult to fight and meant that Nucita would never walk without a wheelchair, if she managed to walk at all.

To everyone’s surprise, therapy, medicine, and love did their job: Nucita managed to walk, little by little, until she could run.

Today, less than 1 year after her rescue, Nucita can run around the yard with her brother and enjoy the life she never imagined she would have. They are expected to be adopted together, and so far, many people are interested in making that wish come true.
