Ryan Kelly, 41, died alongside his ex-partner after an explosion at the woman’s home in Bristol. Authorities are investigating the case as suspicious and suggest it may have been an intentional attack using an explosive device.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, May 3, after police received a report of a domestic incident. Before officers arrived at the scene, the detonation occurred inside the house.
As a result of the blast, both died at the scene, while a minor and two other people suffered minor injuries and were treated at medical centers. According to reports, the woman had recently moved to get away from her ex-partner.
A neighbor told The Sun that Kelly “showed up at the woman’s house with a grenade, detonated it at the door, and killed them both.”
The man had a criminal record linked to “Breaking Bad”-style drug trafficking. Police continue to investigate the exact cause of the explosion, while specialized teams secured the area after the incident.
