After years of fertility problems and lost pregnancies, Ben knew how much his wife had dreamed of holding her baby in her arms. And he wasn’t willing to let that moment be missed ❤️

Ben Rosenberger, 35, had just become a father to Archer when his wife, Casey Gould, suffered cardiac arrest after an emergency C-section and was placed in a medically induced coma. While she remained hospitalized, he made a decision that would move his family.

Everyone could meet the newborn, but he asked them not to hold him. He wanted Casey to be the first, because he knew how long she had waited to become a mom. He even wrapped the little one in one of her sweatshirts to take photos of him and got the doctors to approve skin-to-skin contact while she was still unconscious.

Two days later, Casey finally woke up, and Ben was able to place Archer in her arms. When she learned everything he had done to protect those first moments as a mother, she summed up her gratitude in one phrase: “In my most vulnerable moment, he protected me” 🥹
