$35,000. That was the price Mark Parisi, a salesman at a luxury coffee and bakery shop in Las Vegas, put on one of his testicles. 🫀

The procedure was surgical and cold: removal of the organ, implantation of an artificial one in its place, and 14 days of waiting until the money appeared in his bank account. Parisi did not do it in silence — he went on CBS’s “The Doctors” to tell the story in detail, in front of cameras, without any apparent discomfort. He explained that participating in medical studies also saved him about $700 a year on checkups and blood tests. A cold calculation for a decision few would dare to contemplate. 🚗

With the $35,000 in hand, he bought the car he wanted: a Nissan 370Z. Shortly afterward, he was seen driving around Las Vegas behind the wheel of his new sports car. A literal operation — in every sense — to get what no bank loan would have given him so quickly.
