Juan was only 6 months old when his parents, Swedish missionaries, arrived in Cochabamba and hired Ana Jiménez to care for him.
Ana was 31 years old at the time. She carried him, raised him, and sang to him on Bolivian afternoons during the six years the family lived there, until one day Juan left with his parents for Spain, and that goodbye remained suspended in time, with no return date.
45 years passed. Juan, now a pastor living in Fuengirola, never stopped wondering what had become of the woman who had held him in her arms as a baby. He launched a search he called ‘Finding Ana,’ organized a campaign to support her financially, and when he finally tracked her down in Yacuiba, he traveled to Bolivia to tell her in person what he had been carrying in his heart for decades: thank you. The reunion was recorded, and in the video it is clear that neither of them had forgotten the other.
