Larissa Brito was found dead. The 25-year-old Brazilian model was inside the car driven by her ex-partner, Mathieu, 29, when customs officers inspected it on September 21 near Brignoles, in southeastern France.
The day before, on September 20, Larissa texted her mother, Liliane Brito Nogueira: “Mathieu is here”, according to her.
Her mother received the message, not Mathieu. A day passed between those words and the discovery.
A report published on September 24 said Mathieu was placed under formal investigation for the homicide of a former partner and remanded in pretrial detention on the 23rd.
He denies the accusation. At that point, the investigation was ongoing and there had been no conviction.
