Months of bullying, dozens of complaints to the school. That was what Marsella Reynolds went through before recording the video that now has half the internet debating.
Her 8-year-old son was coming home beaten up and no longer wanted to go to class. The classmate, according to the woman, physically attacked him while shielded by one phrase: “you can’t hit me because I’m a girl”.
She spoke with the teacher, with the principal, the girl was even called to the office, and even so the attacks continued. So she made a decision that isn’t in any parenting manual: she told her son that he had permission to respond if he was hit again.
The mother was clear: she is not promoting violence, but self-defense. What opened the real debate was not so much her decision, but the question surrounding it. Is this how school bullying is fought, or is there another solution?
