A Nepalese soldier rescued a child trapped under the rubble and tenderly fed him

The mud had swallowed almost everything in Rasuwa, Nepal.

The floods of August 2026 left more than a thousand dead and thousands missing, while the Nepalese army searched through the rubble for any sign of life. Amid that scene, a soldier found a child trapped, weak but breathing.

He didn’t simply carry him away. He sat beside him, fed him with his own hands, and waited for him to regain his strength before moving him. That moment, amid a country counting its dead by the thousands, served as a reminder of something simple: even in the worst disaster, someone can choose to stay one minute longer just to care for another.
