The most famous ship in history because of its sinking is going to try again. 🚢 Titanic II, an almost identical replica of the original ocean liner, has a date: June 2027. The route will be exactly the same one the original could never complete — Southampton, Cherbourg, Queenstown and, this time, New York.
Behind the project is Clive Palmer, an Australian magnate with an estimated fortune of 4.300 billion dollars, who has been trying since 2012 to make this voyage a reality. The ship will be 269 meters long, with 9 decks, 835 cabins, and capacity for more than 2.400 passengers. It will be slightly wider than the original for greater stability, with diesel-electric propulsion — and, unlike in 1912, with enough lifeboats for everyone. ✅
On board there will be banquets with the original 1912 menus, live orchestras, and first-class cabins with handcrafted furniture. The only detail that still raises doubts: as of October 2025, formal construction had still not begun. Palmer already promised this voyage in 2016 and in 2018 without delivering. Will the third time be the charm? 🌊
