Claus Jørstad had a knee injury that forced him to shower while sitting down.
For that, he used the IKEA Marius stool, that little four-legged seat with holes in the seat. At some point, while the hot water was running, one of his testicles slipped through one of the holes, and the heat caused it to swell enough to become stuck. Jørstad, a photographer from the city of Alta in northern Norway, spent endless minutes not knowing how to get out, until the water cooled and the cold caused it to contract just enough to free him.
He recounted the whole episode on the IKEA Norway Facebook page, in painstaking detail. The post went viral, with more than 13,500 shares and 6,300 comments, and the company responded with humor, suggesting that next time he use the entire stool or sit with “the proper uniform on and in the proper place”.
