It was so cold that almost no one in Miami remembers weather like it.
Bea Torres, 42, was shopping with her baby when she heard two Target employees discussing something strange: “should we evacuate the store?”. She got scared, thinking something serious was happening. The answer only partly reassured her: there was a stray dog inside, just looking for shelter from the cold.
Torres couldn’t stop thinking about the animal as she walked through the aisles. When she reached the checkout, she found her: a woman with the dog by her side, already with a new leash and freshly purchased food. Torres approached, asked, and confirmed what she suspected — the woman was taking her to a safe home. She recorded everything thinking only of showing it to her husband that night.
The video, uploaded to TikTok, surpassed 4.9 million views. In the comments, someone recognized the adopter: her name is Dean. The dog now has a name, Honey, a fundraiser to help them start their life together, and an entire community sharing their own rescue stories. Torres summed it up simply: she had never seen such a good comments section.
