Everything happened in the early morning hours of June 25 in Ellicott City, Maryland. Someone had forced open the window of a Verizon store and taken several speakers, leaving bloodstains on the shattered glass. Officer Pfc. Buchanan was investigating that scene when, minutes later, he received another call: a man outside a nearby 7-Eleven reported that his pickup truck had been stolen.

That man was Godard. And when the officer approached to take his statement, he noticed something that didn’t add up: blood on his hands, his shirt, and his glasses, just like the blood on the store window. Godard denied again and again having been there, but the security cameras had already captured his face. The county police summed it up with a phrase that went viral: now that’s karma. 😂

An alleged burglar had his car stolen while inside a Howard County Verizon store, according to the Howard County Police Department. Jalen Godard, of Odenton, called police last week to report his car stolen in Ellicott City. Earlier that morning, a Verizon store across Route 40 was burglarized.
