In the town of Blumenau in Brazil, a shocking event took place when a mare named Nina was brought to the funeral of her caretaker, Pedro Krug.
The 70-year-old man had maintained a very close bond with the animal for 8 years, teaching her to be gentle and to perform tricks such as offering her hoof. During the ceremony held on April 27, 2026, the horse let out a high-pitched neigh as she approached the open casket and began gently nudging the body with her muzzle.
The deceased man’s daughter, Daiane Krug Palmeira, organized this final meeting because of the deep passion her father felt for animals and the joy Nina brought to the children in the area.
