Le Van couldn’t let her go.
In 2003, his wife died suddenly. They had married in 1975, in an arranged marriage set up by their parents, and had raised seven children. He was working far away when the news reached him and barely had time to see her face for a few minutes before the burial.

From then on, he began sleeping on her grave in Vietnam’s Quang Nam province. Months later, worried about the rain, wind, and cold, he dug a tunnel to the grave so he could stay by her side. His children discovered him and forbade him from returning to the cemetery. Then, one night in November 2004, he dug up her remains and took them home.
According to Oddity Central, he made a hollow statue out of plaster, cement, glue, and sand, put the bones inside, and placed it on his bed. His children were furious and demanded that he return them to the cemetery; he refused. Some neighbors even alerted the authorities.

VietNamNet reported that years later, he was still sleeping with her. Le Van explained that it was a way to “train” himself to return to his previous incarnation. Was it love, unresolved grief, or an obsession no one could stop?
