An allegedly British woman sparked strong backlash on the island of Santorini after being caught on video scattering human ashes in the middle of a public street.
The images, initially published on the Reddit platform, show the group of visitors walking through Oia, in the northern part of the island, while singing a Bob Marley tune in front of local homes.
Although the deceased’s last wish was to rest in this tourist destination in Greece, the action upset residents because the laws of the European country prohibit scattering remains outside exclusive memorial areas or the open sea.
