A man with a disability was sitting alone in a fast-food restaurant, struggling with his fork and unable to get the spaghetti to his mouth. Around him, people ate, talked, went about their day. No one seemed to notice him. No one except a waiter in a Christmas hat who was passing nearby.
He stopped. He looked at the scene for a second and, without asking permission or asking questions, leaned down beside him. He took the fork in his own hands and began feeding him, bite by bite, with the same naturalness with which he would bring an order to another table.
There were no cameras ready or grand announcement. Just a young man who decided that this customer deserved to eat with dignity, and a scene that ended up reminding us that sometimes the greatest humanity fits into a gesture lasting seconds.
