The explanation turned out to be as simple as it was unexpected: his former owner was dyeing their hair at home and the cat, curious like all cats, jumped straight into the mixture. There was no abuse or strange experiment, just a household accident that left Casper with a look no one forgets. He arrived at the shelter in Merriam, Kansas, because his owner lost their home, not because of the dye.
What seemed like a problem became his best calling card. A week after arriving, Casper already had a new family waiting for him at home.
