Jimena asked just one question.
“Had you ever thought about becoming a priest?”, she said one day to her boyfriend, Juan Andrés Verde, never imagining that those words would remain suspended forever. Shortly afterward, she died in an accident, and that question remained there, floating, with no one to answer it.

Juan Andrés could not let her go. He says he entered the seminary to resolve the doubt, as if he needed to prove something to someone who was no longer there to hear him. What began as a way of processing his grief gradually became a different kind of certainty: today he is a priest, and he speaks of Jimena not with bitterness but with gratitude, like someone thanking the person who pointed him toward a path without knowing it would be the last gift she gave him.

There are questions asked lightly, almost in passing, that end up weighing on an entire life.
