Sapna Bidwall, a 45-year-old accountant, went through a medical hell after being diagnosed with spontaneous intracranial hypotension. This rare condition, which affects only 5 out of every 100,000 people, caused cerebrospinal fluid to leak through an opening, making her brain “sink.”

To try to ease her agonizing pain, doctors prescribed a strict diet: three coffees, a caffeine pill, and a Coca-Cola Zero a day. “If I didn’t have caffeine, my life wasn’t possible,” Sapna confessed. Caffeine helped increase the production of cerebrospinal fluid and constrict blood vessels, providing relief.

In March of this year, she underwent surgery. Today, Sapna is 98% recovered and says her life has changed completely.
