On August 5, 2009, Dalia Dippolito arrived at her home in Florida, United States, and found a crime scene staged by the police.

The officers told her that her husband, Michael Dippolito, had died. She cried, appeared distraught, and asked to see him.

But investigators already had recordings linking her to a plan to have him murdered.

Months after getting married, Dalia had looked for someone who could find a hitman. The intermediary alerted the authorities.

An undercover police officer posed as a hitman and recorded his conversations with her.

In one of them, Dalia said she was “5.000 % sure” she wanted to go ahead.

The officers protected Michael and faked his murder to complete the operation.

When they took her to the police station, they revealed that her husband was alive and that the supposed hitman was a police officer.

Everything was recorded on video.

After an overturned conviction and several trials, in 2017 she received a 16-year prison sentence for soliciting a murder.

The murder never happened. The police setup did, and it ended with her in prison.
