Nathalis Zorrilla had just received her degree in Psychology when she knelt in front of her boyfriend José Pérez and proposed to him before hundreds of people at UAPA’s 77th graduation ceremony, in Nagua, Dominican Republic. He said yes. The audience applauded. The video went viral. 👇

But the controversy was not about the setting. It was about who took the initiative. The harshest comments came from other women: that she should not have knelt, that it was his place to do that, that she lost her value. On the other side, many defend the gesture, saying that she was the one who chose how to honor the person who stood by her every step of her career. 💬

Does a woman who proposes lose something, or is she simply doing what she feels? 👇
