Kayley Boda, a 22-year-old from Manchester, United Kingdom, was diagnosed with lung cancer after more than 7 years of vaping, a habit she began at 15.

It all started with symptoms she ignored, such as coughing up dark mucus, until she began coughing up blood and went to see a doctor.

Although at first she was told it didn’t seem serious due to her age, tests confirmed cancer and she had to undergo surgery to remove part of her lung, along with chemotherapy.

She managed to be cancer-free for a while, but in March 2026 the cancer returned in her lungs, and doctors gave her around 18 months to live. She is now seeking treatment and warning others about the risks of vaping.
