Honorata Jamrozik was returning from Poland, where she had buried her father, when she learned that her life had just changed.

She was 48 years old, lived in Dartford, in the county of Kent, and had won a million in the Omaze Monthly Millionaire Draw. Her first impulse was not to think of herself: she gave 5.000 to her neighbors of 14 years so they could take their first family trip abroad.

Honorata was born in Poland and has lived in the United Kingdom for 25 years. For seven years, she was a foster mother, until she had to stop to care for her elderly parents in her home country, which meant traveling constantly. Now, she said, the prize will allow her to foster children again.

In her words: “Good neighbors are one of life’s true blessings”.
