A young man from Carabobo, Venezuela, graduated from high school without his mother in the audience.

She had died before seeing this day. So he found a way for her to be there anyway: he held her portrait in his arms, like someone who refuses to let go of what he loves most.

It was not just a photo. It was his way of saying that he carries her in his heart, in his soul, in every decision that brought him to that stage.

By his side were his little sister, his aunt, and his grandfather, who could not hold back and kissed the portrait of his daughter as if he could feel, if only for a second, that she was still close.

That mother’s effort did not fade along the way. She graduated with him, in silence, in an image that everyone now remembers.
