On October 29, 2010, a young man of Asian descent boarded an Air Canada flight in Hong Kong bound for Vancouver, posing as an elderly white man.

He wore a silicone mask that simulated the head and neck, along with clothing and accessories to complete the disguise.

During the flight, he removed the mask in the bathroom. The crew alerted the authorities, and upon landing in Vancouver, officers from the Canada Border Services Agency intercepted him. Reports at the time indicated that he had sought refugee protection in Canada.
