A young Polish woman saw “beans with poison” in a Mexican supermarket, and her reaction went viral across Latin America

A young woman from Poland was completely bewildered during her visit to Mexico when she found a product called “Beans with poison” in a supermarket.

The tourist filmed the packaging and could not hide her surprise. “Do Mexicans eat poisoned beans?”, she asked with a laugh as she tried to understand why a traditional recipe would have such an alarming name.

The dish does not contain anything toxic. The famous “poison” refers to ingredients such as chili, cheese, chorizo, or meat that enhance the flavor of the beans. Thousands of Mexicans rushed to explain the meaning to her, while others joked about what her reaction would be when discovering more typical dishes from the country.
