RJ Mitte died on Monday, October 12, in Brownsville, Texas. He was 34 years old.
TMZ was the first to report the news and, citing a county official, said the actor had reportedly taken his own life. That’s what is known so far: authorities are continuing their investigation, and his representatives spoke only of a “tragic death”, without specifying the cause. No one has explained what happened, and that silence is what weighs most heavily in this story.

Because just days earlier, Mitte seemed like his usual self. In early October, he met up with Luis Moncada, the Marco Salamanca of Breaking Bad, and the week before, he appeared on a podcast where he talked about how the series changed his life and how close he remained to the cast. Last year, he had gotten engaged to his partner, Kennedy Suarez.
He was only 3 years old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Even so, he went on to play Walter White Jr. in 56 episodes and became a voice for the rights of people with disabilities.
