Stanley Sandler died in 2003. His son Adam never fully let him go.
Every time a Happy Madison Productions movie begins, an old man appears hitting a golf ball while a voice shouts “Terrific!”. That man is Stanley, Adam Sandler’s dad. And that voice, although it sounds identical to his, is actually Adam imitating him after his death, so that his memory could keep opening every story.
The tribute didn’t end there: in “Grandma’s Boy” the logo changes to “Oh, boy”, in “The Ridiculous 6” it turns sepia with a Western aesthetic, and in “Hustle” Sandler named his character Stanley Sugerman and grew a beard to resemble his father. Twenty years later, he continues finding new ways to say thank you. 🎬❤️
