Agustín was walking alongside Club El Cortijo, in Merlo, when a lawn mower ran over him.
He was wearing a collar, but that didn’t prevent the disaster. He lost one front leg, the other was left with extremely severe injuries, and he was bleeding out among the grass, in shock. According to local media, no one arranged veterinary care for him. It was a woman who raised the alarm and several neighborhood residents who went out to find him, picked him up, and rushed him to the trusted clinic of Proyecto 4 Patas, the area’s animal rescue organization.
He arrived with massive blood loss. The veterinarians stopped the bleeding from both legs, stabilized his vital signs, and kept him alive while deciding each step.
After 16 days of hospitalization and intensive care, the team at the Wellvet clinic discharged him. Agustín walked out of the treatment room and away from the darkness of that day. There are ongoing complaints in the case to investigate what happened, but today what matters is that, thanks to those who didn’t leave him alone, he has a second chance.
