Wladimir Klitschko, Hayden Panettiere’s former fiancé and the father of her daughter Kaya, went to court with an urgent request to protect the inheritance the actress left to her 11-year-old daughter.

In documents filed in Los Angeles, Klitschko asks to be appointed temporary representative of Kaya’s estate and warns that some of Panettiere’s belongings could be lost, damaged, or taken before a permanent administrator is appointed.

The petition also states that federal agents removed belongings from the actress’s home during an investigation and that some valuable items, including jewelry and clothing, are reportedly missing. Klitschko also says that Panettiere had hired security before her death because of concerns about unauthorized access to her property.

Kaya, born in 2014, is Panettiere’s only child and, according to information published about the probate proceedings, would be the primary heir to her mother’s assets. The girl lives with Klitschko, who has had custody of her since the couple separated in 2018.

The request seeks to ensure the assets remain protected as the legal proceedings move forward. The hearing is scheduled for October 8.

Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36. The coroner determined that her death was accidental and related to an overdose of several substances, including fentanyl. The investigation is ongoing.
