Renley was born on May 5, 2026, in Lancashire, England, after his mother, 25-year-old Chloe Birkett, experienced two losses before having him.

At first, he seemed like a healthy baby, but three days later, blisters began appearing on his feet. Three weeks later came the diagnosis of epidermolysis bullosa simplex, a genetic disease that makes the skin extremely fragile.

Since then, his parents have had to bathe him, apply creams, treat his blisters and wounds, and constantly watch for possible infections.

The family has now learned to manage his condition, although his feet could be especially affected as he grows. His parents decided to share his story to raise awareness of a disease that currently has no cure and to support research into new treatments.
