Nachum Israel Eber, a 51-year-old father from Brooklyn’s Orthodox community, was brutally murdered in Bogotá. His body was found dismembered inside a discarded closet on the street.

Eber, who traveled to South America after getting divorced, was looking for a new partner after his brief one-month marriage to an 18-year-old woman fell apart in January. A union that many found disturbing because of the staggering 33-year age gap between them.

According to those close to him, the victim was a religious man with no vices who dreamed of building a new home, but his search ended in an atrocious crime. Do you think these unions with such marked age differences hide dangers that are often ignored until it is too late?
