Some coincidences seem too improbable not to make us think a little about fate 🥹.
In the year 2000, Xue and Ye were two complete strangers living their own lives in China. Without knowing each other, they both traveled to Qingdao and ended up visiting the same square on the same day.
Xue took a photograph in front of a sculpture and went on with her life without noticing a small detail: Ye happened to appear in the background of the image. Neither knew the other existed, and it would still be 11 years before they truly met.
In 2011, their paths crossed again, this time in Chengdu. They fell in love, got married, and had twin daughters. But the real surprise came years later, when Ye was looking through old family photographs and immediately recognized the place… and then recognized himself behind the woman who was now his wife.
Considering that China had more than 1.200 million inhabitants when that photograph was taken, the coincidence is even more incredible.
Perhaps that first time simply wasn’t their moment. It took 11 years for two people who had already shared a photograph to finally be able to share a life 🥹.
