Medical personnel performed resuscitation maneuvers at the scene before transferring him to the National Institute of Cardiology. The first hours brought a report of a stable condition, but hours later the Mexico City Crisis Room officially confirmed his death. Authorities ruled out any act of violence and coordinated the procedures with the German consulate. His identity was not revealed.
