Photos of a young couple began circulating on social media, showing how an accident can change a life in a matter of seconds.
In the old photos, they both appear smiling together. However, later photos and videos show the young woman during a difficult recovery, with significant visible injuries to her face.
Her partner, Aytuğ Sarıkaya, has continued sharing photos with her on TikTok, where the contrast between before and after eventually caught the attention of millions of people.
An exchange posted by Aytuğ himself is especially revealing.
One user looked at the photos and asked him in Turkish: “Did that girl end up like this in this car?”
“Unfortunately”, he replied.
Someone else then wished her a speedy recovery and added: “I hope you never leave her”. Aytuğ replied: “Thank you, I hope I don’t”.
Photos of the wrecked vehicle that later began circulating give an idea of the force of the impact. However, there is no reliable public information establishing the exact circumstances of the accident or assigning responsibility, so accounts circulating on social media should be treated with caution.
What her posts do show is that, after the young woman’s appearance and life changed radically, Aytuğ continued appearing by her side.
