A small Arctic fox decided it was time to live its own adventure. It slipped out of its enclosure at a zoo in Germany and traveled several kilometers through the forest, guided purely by instinct and adrenaline.
But freedom comes with an energy cost no one told it about. Halfway through the escape, exhaustion got the better of it, and the fox curled up right on the asphalt, forming a perfect little ball, just in front of the patrol car that arrived to look for it. The officers did not have to chase anyone: they simply blocked the road to protect it while it slept and waited for the zoo staff to arrive and pick it up.
So, safe and sound, it returned home without putting up any resistance. Its escape lasted exactly as long as its energy did, and not a minute longer.
