Resellers were asking up to 5,000 dollars for a ticket to the semifinal against England, and this Argentine fan did not even have half that. So he did what anyone in their right mind would do: he looked for a borrowed baby.
He approached an unfamiliar couple in line and proposed something that sounds like a joke but was real: “Will you let me hold the baby?”. The mother hesitated, the father agreed, and just like that the plan got underway with a 6-month-old baby in his arms and a photo of a ticket that did not even have a QR code.
With the child as a shield and the typical pre-match chaos, the guards let their guard down. “When they see you with a baby, they treat you differently”, he said with a laugh on TyC Sports. And so, with 14 minutes of borrowed fatherhood, he got into the stadium without spending a dollar.
