Comando measures 21 centimeters and weighs seven kilos.

He is 13 months old and lived with an older couple in the state of Chihuahua who, due to physical limitations, could no longer care for him as he deserved. Rather than abandon him, they turned to the State Coordination of the National Guard to find him a new family. The institution adopted him about six months ago.

Today, this Chihuahua wears a tactical vest made to fit him, a helmet, protective goggles, and even a small camera on his head. He trains for search and rescue tasks: at a military facility in Mexico City, he climbed stairs and overcame obstacles alongside dogs much larger than he was, while also learning basic obedience commands. His training is ongoing.

Meanwhile, he accompanies the troops at school fairs, civic events, and family gatherings, and took part in the activities surrounding the Independence Day parade. His size, the agents say, helps people approach with confidence.
