An Englishman bought 48 beers, one for each World Cup country, and will drink them every time a team is eliminated 🍻

Gus Hully, a London music analyst and the most organized fan on the planet, has kept the same ritual since the 2018 World Cup in Russia: he buys one beer for each participating country and opens it at the exact moment that national team is eliminated. 🍻

This edition, with the tournament expanded to 48 teams, the logistics got out of hand for him in the best possible way. After months of arrangements and an international network of contacts, the collection is complete. The most extreme case: he got the beer from Iraq by paying 30 pounds to a Pole who had recently been in the country. For the Arab national teams where alcohol is prohibited —Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq— he chose non-alcoholic malt drinks. Creative solution, pro level. 😅

If no team leaves him alone and he completes the challenge, he will finish the tournament with 47 beers in him (the champion’s doesn’t get opened, obviously). His post has already surpassed 12.4 million views on X. Spain, in case you were wondering, is represented by an Estrella Galicia. 🇪🇸
