Jayden Adams had an entire World Cup ahead of him. He wore South Africa’s jersey at FIFA 2026™, shared the pitch with the best in the world, and from one day to the next, everything went dark: he was found dead at his home.

Football stopped to bid him farewell as he deserved. Before Norway and England took to the pitch for the quarterfinals, both teams and the entire stadium observed a minute of silence. No one spoke. Only the wind and the memory of a teammate who is no longer here.

Sometimes sport is also for that: to stop, look inward, and remember that behind every jersey there is a life. Jayden is no longer here, but that silence said it all. 🕊️🇿🇦
